1. Disclaimer of Responsibility for Generated Content

Author AI is a generative writing platform powered by artificial intelligence designed to assist users in creating content. By using the Author AI platform (the “Service”), users acknowledge and agree that:

  • Author AI assumes no responsibility or liability for any content generated using the Service, nor for the subsequent use, distribution, or publication of that content by the user or any third party.

  • All outputs generated by the AI, including but not limited to text, characters, names, plots, and narrative structures, are automatically generated based on user prompts and system behavior. Author AI does not monitor, review, or pre-approve generated outputs.

Any similarity or resemblance to real persons (living or deceased), companies, events, or existing works is purely coincidental and unintentional. Author AI makes no representations or warranties that any generated content will not infringe on the rights of third parties.

2. User Responsibility for Legal Compliance

It is the sole responsibility of the user to:

  • Ensure that the content they generate, edit, and publish through Author AI does not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other intellectual property rights of any third party;

  • Verify that their use of the Service and its outputs complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws, including those relating to copyright, defamation, obscenity, and data protection;

  • Use appropriate diligence, discretion, and human judgment before using, publishing, or commercializing AI-generated content.

Author AI encourages all users to independently review their generated works for originality and legal compliance before public distribution or monetization.

3. Intellectual Property and User Ownership

All AI-generated content created through Author AI by a user with an active subscription or credit-based access:

  • Is the sole and exclusive intellectual property of the user who generated and paid for it;

  • May be used, modified, published, or commercialized by the user without attribution or obligation to Author AI;

  • Will not be stored, retained, or reused by Author AI for training, republishing, or third-party access, except as necessary for short-term technical processing or under specific written agreement.

Author AI does not claim, assert, or retain any rights, licenses, or interest in any AI-generated content created by its users.

4. No Warranties; Limitation of Liability

Author AI is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Author AI disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement;

  • In no event shall Author AI, its affiliates, employees, agents, or partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service or any generated content.

5. Jurisdiction and Governing Law

This disclaimer and all disputes arising out of or relating to Author AI shall be governed by the laws of [Insert Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles. Users agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [Insert Location].

Author AI assumes no responsibility for content generated by users within the United States. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their generated content complies with federal and state laws, including but not limited to copyright (Title 17 USC), trademark, right of publicity, defamation, and obscenity regulations.

Under the Copyright Act, users are considered the authors of any original AI-assisted work, provided substantial human input is involved. Author AI disclaims any rights over outputs and will not store or reuse user-generated material.

Users are advised to perform their own clearance reviews prior to commercial use.

EUROPEAN UNION / UNITED KINGDOM

Author AI makes no warranty regarding the originality or compliance of content generated within EU/UK jurisdictions. Users are solely responsible for ensuring AI-generated material adheres to the Copyright Directive (EU), Digital Services Act (EU), and UK IP law.

Under GDPR, Author AI ensures that personal data is not processed or stored without consent. All user-generated content remains the sole property of the user and will not be retained or repurposed.

AUSTRALIA

Author AI provides no guarantees as to the legality, originality, or usability of generated outputs. All users must comply with the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), the Australian Consumer Law, and any applicable defamation laws.

Users are the full rights holders of the AI-generated content and must ensure the content does not infringe on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural rights, trademarks, or moral rights.

CANADA

Author AI accepts no liability for the reuse, distribution, or infringement of AI-generated content under Canadian law. Users are responsible for compliance with the Copyright Act (RSC 1985), the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and provincial privacy statutes.

All intellectual property rights in generated works belong solely to the user. Author AI neither retains nor claims ownership.

INDIA

Author AI shall not be liable for any violation of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 or Information Technology Act, 2000 caused by the user's reuse or distribution of AI-generated content.

Users must ensure the content does not include defamatory, inflammatory, or sensitive material, including religious, caste-based, or political content prohibited by Indian law.

INTERNATIONAL USERS (General)

All users acknowledge that use of Author AI is at their own discretion and risk. Author AI provides no warranties on compliance with the laws of the user's jurisdiction. Users are encouraged to consult legal counsel before commercializing content.

All rights to AI-generated content belong to the user who paid for its generation. Author AI retains no ownership and stores no content beyond session-limited technical processing.
